Overview - Australia by Mercedes
Set out behind the wheel of your Mercedes and weave through the spectacular gorges of the mist-shrouded Blue Mountains and along the undulating hills of the famed Hunter Valley. Join us as we explore the playground of Australia's elites, tasting cutting edge fusion cuisine in cosmopolitan Sydney, hiking the dramatic escarpments of the Blue Mountains, sipping wine from the barrel of a famous estate in Hunter Valley, flying vintage aircraft along the coast and indulging in pampered luxuries all along the way.
Highlights

SEE the provocative architecture of the Sydney Opera House, one of the most distinctive buildings of the 20th century. The roofs are constructed of 1.056 million glossy white and matt cream Swedish-made tiles..

SMELL the crispness of high altitude air as you soar above the clouds in the historic 1930’s vintage open-cockpit Tiger Moth, “one of the greatest aircrafts of all time.”

TASTE the savoury bouquet of one of Hunter Valley’s world renowned full-bodied white wines, as you walk languidly through the Valley’s famous vineyards.

TOUCH the silky smooth leather seats of the Mercedes SLK 350. With power adjustment of everything plus lumbar supports in the backrest, these seats provide the highest level of driving comfort.

HEAR the chest-pounding power of the Mercedes CLK 240 as the Blue Mountains blur past you at top speed. Mercedes-Benz has extended the six-cylinder line-up for the new CLK-Class by adding the tried-and-tested 2.6-litre V6 engine.

The Cars

CLK 350 Convertable. The bold exterior of the CLK-Class Cabriolet is not only impressive, it's striking. It's not only attractive, it's arresting. With its formidable lines, sleek aluminum trim, tinted windows, and distinct radiator grille, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more exceptional balance of power and grace. Take the CLK-Class out for a spin, and take comfort knowing your'e exuding a presence that is absolutely second to none.

E320 Sedan. More power, less fuel: the BLUETEC diesel engine. The V6-engine in the E320 BLUETEC Sedan produces 210 hp and 388 lb-ft of torque, so you can be sure that economical driving is highly enjoyable. The uncanny smoothness of this engine can be attributed to the Lanchester balancer shaft and extensive damping. Extra smoothness is added by the standard 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission. A newly engineered catalytic converter and a series of specialized filters help to minimize emissions. With the added fuel economy of the diesel engine, it helps ensure that the environmental impact of the E320 BLUETEC is minimized.

SLK 280. A good sports car is responsive. A great one borders on telepathy. The SLK 280 feels your need for speed and responds with its 228-hp 3.0-litre V-6 engine. The SLK is the only model in it's class capable of converting from a hardtop coupe to an open-top roadster. Press a button and in just 22-seconds, find yourself at one with the elements. The electro-hydraulic vario-roof moves backwards in a single elegant motion and disappears into the rear of the car, out of sight. Thanks to the intelligently designed folding mechanism, the SLK is able to offer significantly greater trunk space than its predecessor when the roof is lowered. When the roof is raised, the tinted glass has a pleasant cooling effect, while at colder temperatures the heated rear windshield gives you a clear view to the rear.

SL 550. The SL-Class experience opens with a V-8 engine under the hood of the SL 550. Its 382 hp catapult it to 100 km/h in a mere 5.4 seconds and the 391 lb-ft of maximum torque is available between 2800 and 4800 rpm. The cylinder heads have been redesigned from scratch: timing of the two intake and two exhaust valves is taken care by continuously variable camshaft adjustment to optimize combustion of the fuel. Not only does this increase the engine's power output, it reduces its consumption and emissions too.
